The Challenge
From 2009 to 2012, Google required a creative partner who could meet high-volume, cross-vertical demands while maintaining exceptional quality and speed. With multiple Fortune 100-facing teams needing fast-turnaround creative—pre- and post-sales—Google turned to Mering for a scalable solution. Simultaneously, YouTube needed experienced creative direction to develop and launch branded content across some of its most popular channels.
The Approach
As Chief Production Officer at Mering, I led an elite team of:
• Copywriters
• Graphic Designers
• Art Directors
• Video Editors
• Creative Directors
Together, we delivered end-to-end creative services for Google’s internal marketing and sales divisions. I served as the primary contact for Google's in-house creative agency, The Zoo, and worked closely with their leadership to provide strategic input and frameworks that helped shape the foundation of Google’s own internal creative department.
On the YouTube side, I had the privilege of contributing to some of the platform’s most-viewed channels. Acting as Creative Director, I pitched, developed, and deployed branded content campaigns—from ideation to execution—including the management of live stream publishing and creative asset trafficking.
