Role

Lead Designer

The Challenge
Chopper, a genre-bending horror-action IP, needed a central digital hub to rally its growing fanbase and share the journey of the franchise. With the short film completed, the next step was to turn audience interest into fan engagement—and eventually, brand loyalty.

The challenge was twofold:
• Repurpose footage from the film as a dynamic design element
• Build a site that collects data, rewards users, and sustains momentum for the property

The Approach
As Lead Designer, I developed the official website in under two weeks, focusing on three core principles: visual immersion, narrative transparency, and fan incentivization.

Key Design Moves:
• Used film footage and textures from the short to shape an atmospheric, cinematic look
• Developed a narrative-driven blog, detailing Chopper’s evolution from comic book to crowdfunded short film
• Integrated data capture mechanisms (e.g., email signups, gated content) that rewarded visitors with exclusive access
• Created an experience that felt less like a website and more like an extension of the film’s universe

Key Features
• Homepage hero video using stylized footage from the short
• A fan blog that doubles as an insider’s archive of the IP’s development journey
• Content rewards system that turns casual visitors into subscribers and evangelists
• Scalable site structure to accommodate future updates, merch, and streaming

Results & Impact
• Became the central storytelling platform for the Chopper brand
• Successfully positioned the IP as active, evolving, and fan-first
• Created momentum ahead of future phases (feature development, potential distribution)
• Delivered a visually-rich, emotionally-engaging digital anchor for the franchise
